A LOCAL AND NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL POETRY AND ART CONTEST

Grand Prize Winners of the 2013 River of Words contest will win a trip to San Francisco for the April 21st Youth Creativity Awards at the San Francisco Public Library. Plus, ALL winners and finalists will be invited to the May 7th Library of Congress Youth Creativity Awards in Washington, DC. One of the 2012 Grand Prize winners was from Vestavia, AL!!

Calling all Blount county kids age 5 to 19!  Got courage? An interest in local history, science, art, poetry, rivers, animals, water or nature?  That’s all you need to help you enter the River of Words (ROW), a local and national poetry and art contest. 

Explore the rivers, lakes, and streams of Alabama—or the puddles and ponds of your own backyards— and express what you discover, through poetry and/or art including photography.
